Leaving NYC...

Finally! Don't get me wrong, it was an interesting experience being in The Big Apple, but I'll be happy to be back in the collective boonies.

NYC should be called The Big Ginkgo Tree. Ginkgo biloba on nearly every street, and millions of people (about eight, to be more precise) completely oblivious to them.

Highlights of the trip include, in no particular order:

  • Seeing hundreds of ginkgo trees
  • Finding no less than four varieties of Yarrow (Achillia millefolium) on Fire Island
  • The day spent on Fire Island wondering about this plant or that
  • Seeing Hairspray on Broadway
  • Setting a new daily sales record for a store in Harlem on a clothing binge
  • Visiting a TCM apothecary in Chinatown

So long, NYC. Glad I got to know you. But I'm even more glad to be headed back to Cottonwood tonight!
