Ear coning - Ever tried it?

Today a client asked me about ear coning, siting benefits she received a few years ago from the therapy. I've heard of this practice, seen the product and know of many individuals who have experienced relief of a wide range of symptoms. I, however, have no practical knowledge of coning (or candles, as they are often called) the ears.

In doing some basic research, I noticed this article on the Charlotte Observer (NC) webpage. It shows some things to be aware of and talks to some of the conditions applicable to ear coning. I'm curious if anyone has either used this in practice or received the benefits of this service? Leave me a comment.

Hi Karen,

Thanks for dropping by the site. I'm afraid I won't be of much help to you-- at least not directly. My experience with ear coning is limited to two people... and none of them are from Ohio.

You might want to try the American Herbalist Guild 's website. Check out the Professional Member List to find qualified herbalists in your area. Not all herbalists are ear coners, but I'm sure one of these folks can point you in the right direction.

Hi Karen, Call around to some of the day spas in your area. There are several high-end day spas in the Charlotte, NC area that do the coning. I learned from one when I worked there. Now I do it for family and friends. I order mine online from various homeopathic web sites. It is an ancient Egyptian remedy. It's really wonderful!
